The published courseware may be obtained from the Journal of Chemical Education: Software, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Department of Chemistry, 1101 University Ave., Madison WI USA 53706-1396. See the JCES pages at the back of each copy of the Journal of Chemical Education, or visit their Web site, jchemed.chem.wisc.edu/JCESoft.
The DOS SIRs were published as JCES 1996, 9B No.2, and the Periodic Table Games in JCES 1997, 10B No.1. The SIRs and Periodic Table Games are now available along with a lot of other useful programs at nominal cost on the General Chemistry Collection CD-ROM, Special Issue 16, 3rd edition.
If you are a Journal of Chemical Education subscriber, you may download the DOS SIRs and Periodic Table Games from the JCES Web site above. Follow the links through "Software" to "Software for MSDOS". At the top of the MSDOS page you will find "Free Downloads for Journal Subscribers". You'll need your personal password, which comes in the packaging of your monthly J. Chem. Educ. (which, if you're like us, you probably threw away).
The Twelve Introductory Lessons and SIRS for Windows are available as part of the General Chemistry Collection CD-ROM for students, 6th edition, Special Issue No 16. They, too, come with lots more good stuff. You can order the General Chemistry Collection from JCES, U. of Wisconsin-Madison, 1101 University Avenue, Madison WI USA 53706-1396; phone 1-800-991-5534; fax 608-265-8094; http://jchemed.chem.wisc.edu/JCESoft/.
